Pre-Training Activities for Success – Online

The Sanford Harmony online training site will provide a variety or resources designed for your specific professional development needs and audience:

Who Should Participate in Online Training?

We encourage school-wide implementation of Harmony as relationship building extends beyond the classroom. School administrators, classroom teachers and assistants, school specialists, guidance counselors, psychologists, and playground supervisors are all encouraged to participate in Harmony training. Developing a common Social Emotional Learning (SEL) language, sharing activities, and problem solving strategies will enhance your entire learning community!

1. Pre-Training Activities

2. Organize Your Online Training

You can customize your online training to accommodate your organization’s audience and schedule for professional development. The Harmony online training can be presented in its entirety for your staff (2.5 – 3 hours) or you may choose to break down your training into shorter 1.5 hour segments.

After your staff implements Harmony, be sure to create additional collaborative time to share resources, ideas, and learning opportunities.

3. Materials to Support Your Training

4. Harmony Training PowerPoint Presentation

The Harmony training presentation on our online portal shares the background and research behind Sanford Harmony and makes the connections to social-emotional competencies that are crucial for students’ academic and life success. You will learn about the Everyday Practices of Meet Up and Buddy Up and how the activities and lessons in the grade level teacher manuals will enhance your learning community.  The presentation will provide hands-on activities, discussions, and allow time with your colleagues to reflect and plan how to implement Harmony in your classrooms. At the end of the training presentation, you will receive instructions to access your certificate of completion.

5. Lesson Plans

You will receive grade level lesson plans in your Teacher Toolkit. The units are also available digitally on our online training portal.

A signed MOU is required for access to our online portal and additional training resources. You will receive access to the Sanford Harmony training portal via email during the onboarding process. To learn more, contact our Harmony Online Ambassador.
